Services Provided
TSAS was established to provide a specialist referral surgical service for New Zealand Veterinarians and their clients. Our surgeon accepts cases for both diagnostic evaluations and for surgical treatment. We are also able to offer diagnostics via access to digital radiography, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
We accept small animal patients (usually cats and dogs) that require diagnosis and treatment of lameness, neurological / spinal conditions, cancer, fractures, air-way, skin grafting, orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. We do not perform surgical procedures for cosmetic reasons, and do not normally accept cases for dentistry or routine de-sexing. On rare occasions, we will perform de-sexing surgery on pets that are deemed a very high anaesthetic risk, if this is prompted by their referring veterinarian.
We aim to work closely with both the pet-owner and their regular veterinarian to provide advanced treatment with the patients best interests at heart. In many cases our patients are referred from distant centres, thus we find good communication with all involved parties is critical in achieving a successful outcome.
